The True Guide for our Local Tados this sarcastically written guide. NO GW no VAllejo or international brands on this one except shopee china links(bcoz super cheap) and locally available stores. Perfect for poor Tados like me that are on the budget but wants to try to lost their freedom and bebe time for the hobby.

Im no Writer so im gonna write this horribly possible but i guarantee you this is a VERY HELPFUL GUIDE Kaizen Guarantee and also im no web designer the jankiness of this guide is motivational

I know your already on a youtube binge about the hobby but majority are international products So heres the Cheaper or the Local equivalent.These are a bunch of PRODUCTS I RECOMMEND AND GASLIGHTING you to BUY THEM cause i dont want u to waste your time and money. Basically im gaslighting you to the right direction. Also contains Products you Might want to Avoid for the hobby cause theyre either horrible or doesnt make sense.

01 PAINTS

WATERBASE ACRYLICS | CONTRAST PAINTS| SHADES

Locally as far as i know theres 4 Local brands thats within the hobby. We got Armored Komodo Heavy Industries, Arcus Hobby, Zurcs and HiroPaints. All of them has their Pros and Cons  theres many mediums for painting miniatures but BEST medium for beginners is WaterBase acrylics. EAsy to apply, fast to dry ,amazing control ,and can be diluted with water which is FREE. You have to take note they are tested and compared with each other the 4 local brands so DONT GIVE a stupid comment about comparing them to international brands this is a guide truly aimed for the Local scene of the hobby and an afforadable way for beginners

lets face it Local is way cheaper.

ARMORED KOMODO HEAVY INDUSTRIES 125PHP-195PHP/30ML

The Paint Brand that has a physical Store for Miniature Painters,Tabletop Enthusiast and just your avarage Gamer. Which you can walk in and Paint. Their Bottles are Great the best even out of the 4 brands it has the biggest noozle so it Clogs less. Very opaque paints as well may requires more thinning due to its viscosity. Its afforadable  but a tad bit PRICEY 125PHP /30ml for its usual quantity compare to the other brands And has a Huge Range of colors as well. Very accomodating staff throught their online channels and physical store so very accesible to buy paints from them and  ask any questions about their products. THey have the Premium edition ones buts very limited with colors

  • SATIN FINISH/GLOSS FINISH (wont say truly a con but usualy miniature painters prefer matte so can be a con or not entirely)

  • May require Intense Bottle Shaking

  • Quick hard to Airbrush really recommend their mediums and a lot ot drops not like the others 

  • Premium paints chonk A LOT VERY VERY HARD TO SHAKE AS WELL. 

  • BASIC SET - ALL COLORs in their WB line that say DEEP on its name example "DEEP RED"

  • FOR LIGHT SKIN - BEIGE RED,BASIC FLESH,VIVID FLESH,LIGHT FLESH

  • DARK SKIN -BLACK BROWN,DARK BROWN,CORK BROWN,BEIGE RED, BASIC FLESH

RECOMMENDED AUXILIARIES TO BUY

  • BLACK PRIMER ,GRAY PRIMER and WHITE PRIMER. This is an amazing Primer Even on HANDPAINTING its autolevels itself leaving a great surface for you to paint on. Just dab on a Mini let it do its magic while it dries.

  • WaterBase Thinners, IF YOUR AIRBRUSHING YOU NEED THIS because these paints are opaque u do need to thin them quiet a lot usually on a drop of paint i do a 1:4 drops ratio on the thinner. AND REALLY SWIRL THE PAINT around with a Brush on ur Airbrush CUP.

  • WaterBase Airbrush Clinner and Airbrush Cleaner They are REALLY REALLY GOOD cant stress it Enough of all the Brands i tried this one is a keeper their AB Clinner thins down paint gunk and lubes the airbrush easy to throw out the paint gunk out of the brush this option is for the not that smelly option if ur in a tight space. Their Airbrush Cleaner That absolutely decimates WaterBase,Lacquer, and Oil paints melts it all down easy to push thru out the airbrush problem is the Odor is really strong so becareful HUGE WARNING CAN MELT ABS PLASTIC.

ARCUS HOBBY 190-200PHP/30ML

The most Pricey paint among the bunch but boy if is it worth it. The most Saturated paints as well and CREAMY ðŸ’¦  great control easy to make layers with. Honestly i think these paints are the most BEGINNER FRIENDLY ones. They have the most limited color range of just 12-25 colors I wish they have more colors but perfect tool to teach beginners how to mix paints and some fundametals of Color Theory hence why i think these paints are the most Beginner Friendly ones some newbies get overwhelmed by the ranges of colors from the other brands these solves that. Coz honestly u just need twelve to paint anything.

  • Has an instance to reactivate from a over moist brush but if dried for liek 20mins or with a hair dryer it doesnt happen

  • ARCUS QUICK PRIMER PEN This absolute genius of a pen On the go need to prime? GET THIS!! best part its REFILLABLE.

  • ARCUS ACRYLIC PRIMERS also an amazing primer auto-level and good to hold paint into.

  • ARCUS FLOW IMPROVER not necessary something you should have for me but if your airbrushing need to control the surface tension get this i usually do a 1:1 or 1:2 mix with this but sometimes i just use water.

ZURCS SCALE MODEL  120-140PHP/30ML

Zurc's is the longest paint brand Ive been using since 2017 it use to be just lacquers and a few years back they carried waterbase Acrylics as well their 4K Paint line. One of the most afforadable among the bunch i used to buy them for 100php-120php but hayz inflation i guess. Their really creamy and good coverage what i like most about them it truly levels itself rarely i can see some brushstrokes without a wet pallete they are geniuely good. This brand is the underdog in the waterbase area but i truly think people should give them a try.

  • 4k FLOW IMRPOVER i really like this one been using it for years can work with other brands except Hiro but really good for Airbrushing these paints

  • 4k CLEAR COATS also using these for years probabbly the best clear coats among the 4 brands also works with other brands they are so good can be airbrushed and handbrush as well highly recommend and their cheapest too 

  • CHipping Medium like weathering i highly recommend this one other brands have them as well but this one tops it
